I was going to add an infobox per Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle but saw the hidden message about consulting first. Would it be OK? — Iadmctalk  11:17, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Funeral

[edit]

The article states that only ten people attended Bartók's funeral. Yet he was obviously well known (at least in certain classical music circles), the article names famous musicians who commissioned works by him or performed with him, and it says he had numerous supporters. I might guess that perhaps the extensive support he received was primarily to enable him to continue working, and that in person he might have been a difficult man, highly respected for his skill and talent but with other characteristics that were generally disliked; of course that is not the only possible reason, and there might be several reasons.

It just seems an odd surprise when the article says so few people attended his funeral, because there doesn't seem to be a lot of other information here that would make it predictable. But maybe the information is in here and I'm just not reading it right. TooManyFingers (talk) 19:11, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
